Lieutenant Colonel Antonio M. Paz

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Antonio M. Paz was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at San Jose State University in 1994 as an infantry officer. He was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division in Schweinfurt, Germany, where he participated in deployments to Croatia and the NATO-led Implementation Force mission in Bosnia. He went on to join the 10th Mountain Division for another deployment to Bosnia and then commanded an infantry company and a brigade headquarters company. LTC Paz went on to receive training in psychological operations (PSYOP) and then information operations (IO). This training led to his tours as a tactical detachment commander deployed to Iraq; IO planner at the Joint Special Operations Command; two tours in Afghanistan; Battalion S3 at the 6th PSYOP Battalion (Airborne); division chief for Military Information and Support Operations (MISO) at Special Operations Command Europe. Most recently, LTC Paz commanded the 5th Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, NC. LTC Paz holds a bachelor’s degree in history and is currently a member of the U.S. Army War College resident class of 2016. Upon promotion to colonel and his graduation, he will go on to serve in the Washington, DC, area prior to taking command of a MISO unit next year.
