Dr. Abram Trosky

Photo Abram Trosky is a Professor of Communicative Arts at the U.S. Army War College and an Adjunct Research Professor at the Strategic Studies Institute. Before coming to Carlisle, Dr. Trosky was Lecturer in Politics and Public Law, and Lead Humanities Tutor and Writing Coach in the Massachusetts state university system. He served as Lecturer in Ethics and American Government at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Humanities Instructor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Presidential Fellow in Boston University's Department of Political Science where he completed his doctorate in political theory and international relations. Dr. Trosky’s research applies insights from political theory and social psychology to better understand domestic and foreign policy formation in democracies, their ethical and legal implications, and how both are perceived and communicated by elites, military, media, and various publics. Most recently, he authored a chapter in Lexington Books’ Short Stories and Political Philosophy on fiction, censorship, and education in democracies, and is co-author of an article on teaching civic republicanism in the Journal of Political Science Education.
