ANTON K SMITH is Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. He began his career as an economic officer with the U.S. Department of State in 1994 and has served in U.S. embassies in Mexico, Germany, Macedonia and Iraq. He has had assignments on the Senate Banking Committee and most recently on the staff of the Secretary of State in Washington, DC. Mr. Smith holds a B.A. in English from Henderson State University, Arkedelphia, AR, and a Master’s of Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University.
