COL Louis H. Jordan, Jr

Photo Colonel Louis H. Jordan, Jr., is the Deputy Director of the Strategic Studies Institute, U.S. Army War College, Carlisle, PA. His assignments include Flight Operations Officer, Company Executive Officer, Asst S3 Air, Asst S3 and Brigade Adjutant in the 42d Infantry (RAINBOW) Division New York Army National Guard. He served as Battalion S3 for 3-140 Aviation (CH-47D), 66th Aviation Brigade, I Corps in Stockton, California. Colonel Jordan has served at the National Guard Bureau as Deputy Division Chief for the Aviation and Safety Division. After serving at the national level, Colonel Jordan commanded the Aviation Support Battalion, Western Army National Guard Aviation Training Site in Marana, Arizona. In 2005, he was selected to be the Brigade Commander for the Western ARNG Aviation Training Site. In 2008, he was selected to command Joint Task Force Raven, the aviation task force for Operation Jump Start along the southwest border in Arizona. Colonel Jordan holds a B.A. in sociology from Fordham University, a master’s in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College, and certification in Strategic Planning from the American Management Association.
