Dr. Harsh V. Pant

HARSH V. PANT is a professor of international relations in the Defence Studies Department and the India Institute at King’s College London. He is also a Non-Resident Fellow with the Wadhwani Chair in U.S.-India policy studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Washington, DC. His current research is focused on Asian security issues. His most recent books include: India's Evolving Nuclear Force and Its Implications for U.S. Strategy in the Asia-Pacific (Strategic Studies Institute, U.S. Army War College, 2016); Handbook of India’s Defence Policy (Routledge, 2016); India’s Afghan Muddle (Harper Collins,2014); The US-India Nuclear Pact: Policy, Process and Great Power Politics (Oxford University Press, 2011); and The Rise of China: Implications for India (Cambridge University Press, 2012). Dr. Pant is a graduate of Delhi University. He holds an M.A. and an M.Phil. from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Notre Dame.
