Colonel Michael J. Arnold

Colonel Michael J. Arnold is currently assigned to the J3 Directorate at the Defense Logistics Agency at Fort Belvoir, VA. He was commissioned in the U.S. Army in 1993 as a logistics officer. His first assignment was in Germany, where he deployed to support peacekeeping operations in Operation JOINT ENDEAVOR in Bosnia Herzegovina. In 1997, he was assigned to Fort Eustis, VA, where he deployed to support Operation DESERT THUNDER in Kuwait and then supported Exercise “Bright Star” in Egypt. In 2006, Colonel Arnold was assigned as the Chief of Plans and then as Battalion Executive Officer in the Republic of Korea. In 2008, he deployed to Iraq and focused on the “Responsible Drawdown of Forces.” Upon redeployment, he served as the Professor of Military Science for the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps Program at San Diego State University, San Diego, CA. In 2011, Colonel Arnold was assigned as Battalion Commander for a U.S. Army Strategic Seaport in Beaumont, TX. Upon completion of command, he served as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics for the 2nd Infantry Division in the Republic of Korea. Colonel Arnold holds a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and is working on a Ph.D. from the School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego.
